Growing up in northern Idaho, farmers would regularly use controlled burns to increase nutrients in the fields, control weeds, and minimize wildfire risks.

In Dr. Kevin Roberts’ new book, Dawn’s Early Light: Taking Back Washington to Save America, he uses the metaphor of a controlled burn through Washington, D.C.

Some institutions like the administrative state and elite universities are beyond repair and must be abandoned. But a “controlled burn” of these institutions would be a great opportunity to grow new institutions that reflect our shared conservative principles.

I’ve already started reading the book and it is a rallying cry for the conservative movement, as The Heritage Foundation leads the fight to save our country.
