The Rips Striper bite continues to be productive. In this video, Capt. Mike Hogan shares effective retrieves for using the Long Range Surface Eraser to tempt finicky stripers on surface rips.

Challenges: High wind conditions and boat-shy stripers required long-distance casting and slow presentations.
Effective Lure: The Hogy Charter Grade Surface Eraser was used for its long casting distance, soft bait-like action, and durability.
Lure Characteristics: The lure imitates small baitfish and can be fished slow or just below the surface.
Fishing Gear: Light tackle with a 7-foot inshore medium power rod, 30 lb braid, and 12 lb fluorocarbon leader.
Technique: Slow, steady retrieve with occasional pops of the rod tip to mimic small baitfish.
