Join me on a deep water cod fishing trip we filmed last week! I'll take you through the essentials of jigging for cod and leave you with a simple playbook for always coming home with fresh cod (or haddock and cusk!) for dinner. Fresh day boat cod is really hard to beat!

Approach: Position the boat over "live bottom" in 240-250 ft. Adjust drifts based on tide and current to stay on productive spots.

Gear Setup: Hogy hybrid rod with 60 lb braided line. Soft and easy fishing. 16 oz Hogy Sand eel jigs paired with Hogy Jig Biki Teaser rigs (olive and Albie Crack colors) to imitate crabs.

Technique: Slow lift-and-drop jigging to mimic the crabs on the sea floor. Keep the jig on the bottom, letting the teasers flutter for natural action.
